Avatr’s 955-hp 06T: Huawei-powered EV estate heading for Europe

Chinese EV maker Avatr has revealed new technical details of the Avatr 06T, the estate version of its upcoming 06 sedan, confirming that the model will feature a tri-motor performance variant producing close to 1,000 horsepower.

The announcement follows earlier reports positioning the car as a potential contender for Europe’s small but growing electric wagon segment.

The 06T was first shown earlier this year as a shooting-brake-style derivative of the Avatr 06, combining the brand’s distinctive design language with a body style that remains particularly popular in Europe.

Newly released specifications shed more light on what the Chinese manufacturer plans for the model when it launches in its home market later this year.

Tri-motor configuration

The most striking addition is a high-performance tri-motor configuration. According to the latest information, the top version will feature a 210 kW front motor and two rear motors rated at 251 kW each.

Together they deliver a combined output of around 712 kW, equivalent to roughly 955 hp, placing the 06T among the most powerful electric estates announced so far.

Besides this flagship version, the model will also be available in less extreme fully electric variants. While final battery specifications have not yet been confirmed for all trims, Chinese certification data suggest a maximum CLTC driving range of more than 740 kilometers for the battery-electric version.

EREV version planned

Avatr also plans to offer the 06T with an extended-range powertrain. This variant combines an electric drivetrain with a small 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine acting as a generator.

The EREV model is expected to carry a battery of around 45 kWh, providing an electric-only range of roughly 300 to 330 kilometers under the Chinese CLTC cycle. Total driving range with the range extender engaged could exceed 1,000 kilometers.

The brand itself is a joint venture between Chinese carmaker Changan, battery giant CATL, and Huawei, combining vehicle engineering, battery technology, and software expertise.

The 06T also serves as the flagship model for the Huawei-Avatr Strategic Partnership 2.0, debuting Huawei’s latest intelligent-driving hardware.

At the front sits a new 192-line LiDAR sensor with an effective detection range of up to 250 meters, roughly 20 percent longer than previous generations, forming the backbone of Huawei’s next-generation ADS 4.0 driver-assistance system.

Inside, the estate inherits the sedan’s digital cockpit with a wide 35.4-inch display spanning the base of the windshield and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen running Huawei’s HarmonySpace 5.0 interface.

Production for the Chinese market is expected to start in the second quarter of 2026. European availability, however, will likely follow later as Avatr gradually expands outside China.

Norway, Germany, and the Netherlands

Parent company Changan has already confirmed plans to introduce the Avatr brand in Europe starting in 2026, with initial launches expected in markets such as Norway, Germany, and the Netherlands.

That means the 06T could realistically reach European showrooms around 2027, with wider availability in markets such as Belgium possibly arriving between late 2027 and 2028, depending on the pace of the brand’s dealer rollout.

If it does arrive, the model could enter a niche but strategically important segment. Electric estates remain relatively rare in Europe despite the body style’s enduring popularity among private and fleet buyers.

Current offerings include models such as the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, the Nio ET5 Touring, and the recently launched Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer.

Pricing has not yet been announced, but analysts expect the 06-series models to start at roughly €50,000 in Europe, positioning the 06T as a premium but still relatively competitive alternative in the mid-to-upper segment of electric wagons. Higher-performance versions with the tri-motor setup would naturally command significantly higher prices.
