Lynk & Co has launched the 07 GT in China, a high-performance plug-in hybrid wagon with up to 523 hp and a claimed electric range of 200 km. More importantly for European buyers, the Geely-owned brand has confirmed that the model is planned for Europe in 2027.
The 07 GT measures 4.85 meters in length, 1.90 meters in width, and 1.49 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.84 meters. That puts it between a BMW 3 Series Touring and the larger Volkswagen Passat Variant or Skoda Superb Combi.
Two powertrain versions
Chinese customers can choose between two powertrain versions. The two-wheel-drive model produces 300 kW (402 hp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. The all-wheel-drive version raises output to 390 kW (523 hp) and 765 Nm of torque, cutting the sprint time to 4 seconds.
Both versions combine a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with electric propulsion and a three-speed hybrid transmission. A 28.3 kWh battery provides up to 200 km of electric range in the Chinese CLTC cycle for the two-wheel-drive version and 170 km for the AWD model.
Those figures will fall under the stricter WLTP test used in Europe. An unchanged battery could still result in an estimated 130 to 150 km of electric range, although Lynk & Co says the European car will receive market-specific specifications. Its drivetrain and battery configuration are therefore not yet confirmed.
The battery can reportedly be charged from 30 to 80% in 14 minutes, unusually fast for a plug-in hybrid. Total gasoline-electric range is claimed at up to 1,422 km.
Practicality is another part of the proposition. The two-wheel-drive version offers 614 liters of luggage space, expanding to 1,665 liters with the rear seats folded. The AWD version offers 548 and 1,599 liters. Lynk & Co also claims a towing capacity of 1,600 kg and a roof-load limit of 100 kg.
The Chinese model has a 15.4-inch central screen, a 10.2-inch instrument display, an augmented-reality head-up display and, depending on the version, ventilated and massaging seats and a 23-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Top versions also receive lidar and Geely’s latest G-Pilot driver-assistance technology.
Roughly €50,000?
Prices in China start at 157,800 yuan (roughly €20,500) and rise to 208,800 yuan for the limited edition. Those conversions are misleading for Europe, where duties, taxes, homologation, and distribution substantially increase retail prices.
A European starting price of roughly €50,000 to €55,000 appears plausible, while the 523-hp AWD version could approach €65,000. The closest comparison is the Lynk & Co 08, which is similarly priced in China and starts at €59,995 in Belgium.
For Europe, the 07 GT is strategically more important than its likely sales volume suggests. Most Chinese manufacturers focus on SUVs, while estate cars remain relevant in Germany, Scandinavia, and the Benelux. The 07 GT would compete with the Volkswagen Passat eHybrid, Skoda Superb Combi iV, BMW 330e Touring, and Mercedes C 300 e Estate.
Its Belgian prospects will depend heavily on the final WLTP CO2 figure, Euro 6e-bis classification, and catalog price. Those factors will determine taxation, company-car deductibility, and benefits in kind.
