Stellantis’ biggest Italian brand, Fiat, brought a modern Italian piazza to the Paris Motor Show. Open, colorful, and welcoming, the stand shows the brand’s latest models and concepts in a meeting place inspired by everyday Italian life.
Since 2021, Fiat has been Stellantis’ leading brand by volume, and in 2026 it has already sold more than one million units worldwide. In Europe, the brand is up 20% from last year, with Italy up 19% and France up 33% since the beginning of the year.
Its performance is particularly strong with private buyers, with Fiat climbing eight positions to enter the European Top 5. “The range spans micro and urban mobility, city cars, compact models and family vehicles, guided by the philosophy: ‘Simple. Compact. Ingenious. Never obvious.’, the manufacturer proudly announced.
At the show, Fiat looks toward the future with the Multiplina and Multiplay concept cars. “Multiplina reimagines vehicle space around changing everyday needs, with the potential to create a new category in the European market,” the press release says.

Multiplay aims to combine the space of an MPV, the character of an SUV, and the versatility of a pick-up, exploring how one vehicle can fulfill different roles.
The Piazza in Paris also features recently introduced models like the Grizzly and Grizzly Fastback, the Grande Panda, the 500 Cabrio, the 600 Sport, and, of course, the Topolino, a micro-mobility offering that is becoming a success story for the Turinese manufacturer.
Multiplina
Former Fiat CEO and Stellantis chief marketing officer Olivier Francois, now Stellantis Company Strategic Advisor, described the new Fiat Multiplina concept as ‘the missing link’ between two-seater quadricycles and proper small electric cars; it follows the Quattrolino concept shown earlier in 2026.
Like the Fiat Topolino and Citroën Ami, the Multiplina is a quadricycle, too, designed mostly for short-range urban use. However, a higher top speed and enough space for four people should expand its appeal beyond the mere novelty.

Olivier François: ‘Today, micromobility is more relevant than ever. In 2025, more than 120 million micromobility vehicles were sold globally – 120 million compared to 90 million cars. So this is a really, really, really big market. Small cars, big market. And in Europe, quadricycles are the fastest-growing segment. Two years ago we relaunched the Topolino, and it quickly became the market leader.”
Indeed, it’s the number one electric quadricycle in several European countries, with a 28% market share across the EU. Fiat is clearly hoping to replicate some of this success with the larger and more practical Multiplina.
Compared with the current Topolino, the Multiplina adds two seats, doubling carrying capacity to four and using a ‘space-maximizing architecture’. But like the Topolino, the Multiplina meets L7 quadricycle regulations, which allow lower safety standards than conventional cars. At the cost of size and speed limits.

However, while the Topolino is limited to 45 kph, we’re told the Multiplina can reach up to 90 kph, making it more practical for journeys beyond towns and city centers. Driving range is also said to be ‘extended’ to support this, while the Topolino’s claimed max is just 75 km per charge.
The Multiplina’s design is clearly inspired by the Fiat 600 Multipla from 1956, another space wonder when you compare its exterior dimensions with the interior space. Philosophically, the car also relates to the famous Fiat Multipla from the late nineties, which some called the ugliest car in history, but many applauded it for its incredible roominess compared to its ultra-compact exterior dimensions (just under 4 m). It offered six seats in two rows and even a decent luggage compartment.

Multiplay
At 4.45 meters long, the Multiplay Concept combines the space efficiency of an MPV, the character of an SUV, and the versatility of a pick-up, Fiat claims. At the heart of the project is the C-pillar ‘Metamorfosi’ architecture: a mobile rear module that lets the vehicle switch from a 6+1 family configuration to a four-seat pick-up with an open bed. Multiplay is conceived as a laboratory for solutions for tomorrow’s mobility, not a preview of a specific production model.

The system developed around the C-pillar is a distinctive element of the concept and enables its adaptability. In the family configuration, the cabin offers six seats plus an additional flexible element, the ‘Petsenger seat’.
The 6+1 configuration extends the Multipla’s six-seat philosophy with the ‘Petsenger seat’, a modular unit that serves multiple functions: a mounting point for a child car seat, a dedicated space for a pet, a small table, or a storage compartment. You can arrange the cabin to suit the journey and its occupants.
Pet solutions are integrated into the vehicle’s components. The outer section of the ‘Petsenger seat’ cushion can detach and serve as a leash, while a door compartment houses a folding bowl. Storage pockets, elastic bands, and multifunctional elements complete the space’s organization.

In the pick-up configuration, four seats are combined with an open bed for bicycles, sports and outdoor equipment, and bulky items. Cargo capacity thus becomes a function that can be activated when needed, within the same vehicle.
The front passenger seat can transform into the ‘Sunseat’, a lounge-style configuration for use when the vehicle is parked. Facing the rear, it uses the dashboard as a backrest to create a chaise longue beneath the panoramic roof, providing a place to read, relax or enjoy the surroundings.

The rear spoiler follows the same principle: it rotates to become an integrated bike rack that, in the pick-up configuration, can carry up to two bicycles.
Comment by Fiat’s new boss, Arnaud Belloni: “Multiplay expresses a quality we want to bring to Fiat’’s next chapter: the ability to make the car useful in everyday life. Families’ needs are changing, and this concept lets us explore solutions that evolve with them. It is a laboratory of ideas for the future of the brand, centered on space, versatility, and the Italian character that makes Fiat instantly recognizable.”
