2025 sales: Dacia confirms, Alpine explodes

In an earlier contribution, we already discussed the relatively good sales figures of the Renault brand and the Renault Group in a challenging environment. Today, we put the spotlight on Renault’s daughters Dacia and Alpine.

There are also persistent, indirectly confirmed rumors that the Renault Group will produce drones for the French Army.

Dacia: 10 million vehicles since 2004

Dacia sold 697,408 vehicles in 2025, posting 3.1% growth compared with 2024. The year 2025 marks a historic milestone: Dacia has sold over 10 million vehicles since 2004. Across its sales perimeter, the brand’s performance confirms the relevance of its positioning based on best-in-class value for money. The new Dacia CEO, Katrin Adt, emphasized this prime quality when we talked to her at the Brussels Motor Show.

In Europe, Dacia noted a record PC+LCV (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles) market share of 4.0%, up 0.1 percentage points from 2024. The brand retained its 10th position in the European rankings.

Furthermore, there’s a record passenger car market share of 4.5%, up slightly by 0.03 points vs. 2024, allowing Dacia to maintain 9th place in Europe. In 2025, Dacia also climbed to second place on the European podium for retail sales to individual customers, with a market share of 7.9%.

These results were driven by the five core models of the brand: Sandero, which sold 289,295 units worldwide in 2025, is Europe’s best-selling passenger car across all channels for the second consecutive year, and has been the number one vehicle sold to private customers in Europe since 2017. Since its launch, over 3.5 million Sandero vehicles have been sold worldwide.

Duster, with 193,974 units sold worldwide in 2025, is the second-best-selling SUV among retail customers in Europe. Since its launch in 2010, more than 2.8 million Duster vehicles have been on the road. Bigster, with 67,573 units sold worldwide, is the best-selling C-SUV to retail customers in Europe in the second half of 2025.

Spring, Dacia’s first EV, recorded 53% growth compared to 2024, with 35,034 units sold worldwide, and is, for the first time, the best-selling electric vehicle in the A-segment in Europe across all channels. Jogger recorded 73,695 units sold worldwide in 2025, placing it in the European top 5 of the C-segment (excluding SUVs).

70% brand loyalty

“The attractiveness of the Dacia range is reflected in its ability to conquer new customers while retaining existing ones, demonstrating both product quality and the brand’s long-term vision,” says the press release.

“This momentum is confirmed by a 70% customer loyalty rate, illustrating the trust and satisfaction of Dacia customers. Loyalty is underpinned by high and improving customer satisfaction levels in 2025, both in sales and after-sales.”

In 2026, Dacia will continue the electrification of its range, aiming to offer a hybrid or 100% electric version of every model to respond to growing demand for sustainable and affordable mobility.

As part of this strategy, the brand has announced the upcoming launch of an A-segment electric vehicle (sharing technology with the Renault Twingo), designed to complement and renew Dacia’s electric city car offering. In 2026, the brand will also introduce a new ICE & hybrid car in the C-segment.

In 2026, Dacia will be counting on three BEV models, as the A110 successor will also be fully electric /Alpine

Alpine: triple-digit growth

Following its international expansion strategy and product plan, the Alpine brand has enjoyed dynamic growth worldwide, achieving three-digit performance, recording a +139.2% increase in sales (10,970 vehicles) in 2025 compared with the previous year (4,587 vehicles). The brand has exceeded the symbolic milestone of 10,000 units for the first time in its history and continues to conquer new markets and attract new customers.

The A-arrow brand sold 2,681 Alpine A110, with more than 61% in top-of-the-range versions (limited series, GTS and Above). This performance is even more significant given that the current Alpine A110 is now in its final months of production after more than eight years on the market, awaiting the arrival of the next (fully electric) generation.

With this sales performance, Alpine confirms its leading position in the two-seater sports coupé segment, topping the podium in Europe with a 44% market share and first place in France, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Launched in 2024, the Alpine A290, the brand’s first electric hot hatch, has made a dynamic start, representing 75% of brand sales with 8,198 units sold. Launched at the end of 2025 in key markets, the Alpine A390, the brand’s first five-seat sport fastback, will gradually expand to the rest of Europe in the first half of 2026.

In 2025, Alpine accelerated its international rollout with 15 new points of sale, bringing the total to 169 Alpine Stores and Ateliers Alpine in 25 countries worldwide. New openings are scheduled for 2026, with the goal of exceeding 200 points of sales by the end of the year. In Belgium, five ‘Alpine Discovery’ stores will be added to the dealer network.

Drone producer Renault

Just recently, Renault’s Chief Growth Officer, Fabrice Cambolive, confirmed that the company will probably produce drones for the French army. This should happen in the Cléon engine factory near Rouen and the chassis plant in Le Mans. For this project, Renault joins forces with the French company Turgis Gaillard, a specialist in defense development.

Not so long ago, CEO François Provost commented that “Renault gets a lot of propositions in this field lately, because the Ministry of Defense knows our competences in the field.” That the French state is still an important shareholder of the company also plays a role, of course.
