MisterGreen expands to Denmark with 300 Teslas
The Dutch lease company, MisterGreen, specialized in leasing Tesla cars, is expanding its activities to Denmark. By doing so, the company will be the first pure electric lease company in Scandinavia. The target of Mistergreen is to realize more than 10% of the turnover of Tesla in Denmark within five years. It will increase its (Tesla) fleet in Denmark to 300 cars in 2022.
“With this expansion, we show our international ambition,” says MisterGreen CEO Mark Schreurs. “It’s nice to see that electric driving is getting popular. We see great opportunities in Denmark because the market isn’t saturated yet. We expect a serious increase of the EV market share.”
Until 2016, the legislation and taxation for electric cars were attractive, resulting in many electric vehicles. After that, electric driving became less popular because of the taxation on purchases scheme.
This taxation has been abandoned since the beginning of this year for EVs with a list price of less than 500 000 Danish Crowns (€65 000). Furthermore, the owners of an electric car get a tax incentive called ‘the green owner tax’, refunding them partially every year.
Country Manager for MisterGreen Denmark is Carsten Laursen. Laursen worked for Tesla in Scandinavia, and after that, he was the MD at Secto Automotive ApS and Country Manager for Jato.
“I’m very enthusiastic about supporting MisterGreen in their green mission,” declared Laursen. “The market for EVs is now open in Denmark, making it the perfect moment for expansion. I expect MisterGreen to have a big impact on the increase of EVs here.”
12 years already
For more than 12 years, MisterGreen is trying to increase the speed of transition toward sustainable mobility. It has linked itself to Tesla because it was almost the only one producing electric cars at that time.
The aim is to open electric driving to a larger audience, therefore lowering the environment’s impact. Ultimately, the use of fossil fuels for mobility has to disappear.
