The Mercedes EQT is the electric version of the T-Class compact family van, with the same powertrain as the Renault Kangoo E-Tech Electric. Mercedes has given two examples of how the EQT can be used as a leisure vehicle with the Concept Marco Polo and the Marco Polo module.
No surprises under the hood of the Mercedes EQT: it’s all Kangoo E-Tech Electric underneath, with a 90 kW (122 hp) electric motor powering the front axle. The 45 kWh battery pack promises a WLTP range of 282 km, slightly lower than the Kangoo’s range. The charging capacity is 22 kW at an AC charging point or up to 80 kW at a DC fast charger, which takes 38 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent.
Aesthetically, the only difference between the EQT and the combustion-powered T-Class is the Black Panel grille with aerodynamically shaped louvers. On the inside, not much has changed apart from the EV-specific dashboard elements. The EQT keeps the T-Class’ low cargo floor and even has a towing capacity of up to 1 500 kg.
Concept EQT Marco Polo
Mercedes views the EQT as a flexible electric family van or leisure vehicle. This is underlined by the Concept EQT Marco Polo, a fully-equipped camper van based on the long-wheelbase EQT, which is set for a 2023 launch along with the Citan and T-Class long-wheelbase versions.
The Concept EQT Marco Polo features a pop-up roof, which allows you to stand upright in the rear of the camper van, where there’s a fully functional kitchen with an induction stove, a bench seat for two, a washbasin, and a refrigerator.

A gas stove also slides out of a drawer in the back of the EQT. There are two sleeping spots: a 1,97 m by 0,97 m bed in the roof tent and a 2 m by 1,15 m folding bed in the rear.
A solar panel on the pop-up roof provides auxiliary power to a removable battery, allowing the Concept EQT Marco Polo to be self-sufficient for a while without affecting range.
The rear windows also have a blackout system thanks to electrochromic glass, which can be darkened at the touch of a button, much like the Magic Sky Control in certain Mercedes passenger cars. Mercedes expects to launch the production version of the EQT Marco Polo in 2023.

Marco Polo module for EQT
If you are looking for a more barebones but versatile option, Mercedes will also sell you the Marco Polo module for the EQT (and T-Class), with a folding bed (2 m x 1,15 m) and blackout curtains for the windows.
This module can be expanded with a kitchen unit containing a sink, a mini fridge, and a removable gas cooker, with space for cutlery and food supplies. Camping chairs and a table that can be placed outdoors or mounted on the center console are also available.
