Construction E313 rush-hour lanes Beringen-Ham starts

The construction of rush-hour lanes on the E313 between Beringen and Ham (Limburg) in the direction of Antwerp will start on Friday. Temporary road signs will be installed, and the actual works at exit complex 25a Tessenderlo will start on Saturday. Entrances and exits in Tessenderlo toward Antwerp will be renewed before the summer.

The entrances and exits will remain available during the construction works, but they may be temporarily shortened. There will also be a speed limit in the area involved.

‘Improve traffic flow’

In the second phase, the entrance and exit complex 26 Beringen will be renewed in both directions. The work will start at the end of March and will take about two months.

“The Agency for Roads and Traffic (Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer, AWV) constructs rush-hour lanes on the existing emergency stretches of the E313 in both directions between Beringen en Ham,” explains Mobility Minister Lydia Peeters (Open Vld).

The seven kilometers of additional rush-hour lanes in both directions should improve traffic flow and reduce traffic jams and cut-through traffic.” Construction work will take about one year.
