The first electric car from the American manufacturer Fisker Inc. is allowed to roll on the roads in Europe. The Fisker Ocean has received sales approval for the European market. The first Fisker Ocean One Launch Edition was handed over to its owner at the recently opened Fisker Center in Copenhagen on Friday.
“I’m super excited to be in Copenhagen to hand over personally the first Fisker Ocean,” said Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker. The new SUV was presented in Great White exterior paintwork and has 22-inch black alloy wheels.
Initially, only the Fisker Ocean One Launch Edition version, limited to 5 000 units, will be delivered. It is the top version with twin-motor all-wheel drive, the ‘Hyper Range’ battery option, and the ‘Extreme’ package, for which a WLTP range of up to 707 kilometers is stated and which costs at least €67 272.
“The entire Fisker team is excited to get the Fisker Ocean One Launch Edition to our reservation holders,” said Henrik Fisker. “Our first delivery was on May the Fifth; after that, we intend to deliver all Ocean Ones by the end of September while initiating some deliveries of the Fisker Ocean Extreme, starting in Europe with the US to follow.”
Munich headquarters and customer centers
The first European Fisker centers were opened a few weeks ago in Vienna and Copenhagen. Other centers and lounges throughout Europe and the US will follow in 2023. Fisker had already activated the configurator for the Ocean at the end of March.
Following the delivery of the first Ocean to the customer in Denmark last Friday, the first German vehicle registration comes as Fisker opens the doors to two brand-new customer centers in Munich, where visitors can experience the all-electric Fisker Ocean first-hand. The first German Ocean was to be delivered to Henrik Fisker himself.
On Monday, Fisker Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker opened the Fisker Lounge Munich, a 400 square-meter space in the city center. In addition, a dedicated 75 square-meter showroom and Fisker’s 600 square-meter European headquarters at Munich’s Motorworld complex also officially opened for business today.
“Having spent the early years of my career in the automotive industry here (working for BMW, editor’s note), it’s great to be back in Germany and Munich as we open new facilities for our customers,” said Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker. “I’m also excited I got my European Fisker Ocean today.”

Four variants as of September
The electric carmaker says it has already built vehicles in the mid-range trim level, the Ocean Ultra, with all-wheel drive. In addition, the Fisker Ocean Sport with front-wheel drive, the most affordable trim level, has also already been produced for registration purposes, the press release said. Deliveries of these variants are expected to begin in September.
The 4,78-meter-long electric SUV is available in four variants. The basic version with single-motor front-wheel drive and the ‘Touring Range’ battery option for a WLTP range of 440 kilometers starts at prices around €40 000. The Fisker Ocean recently won the 2023 Red Dot Product Design Award for Best Electric Vehicle.
The Fisker Ocean is manufactured in Graz, Austria, by contract manufacturer Magna. Production started there last November. It is unclear whether this will also apply to the next Fisker model.
At the end of November, CEO Henrik Fisker announced that its second model, the Fisker Pear, might also be built in Europe, possibly without a partner. However, Fisker has not yet commented further on the development of these considerations.
