BYD presents new e-buses with Blade battery at Busworld Brussels

BYD has brought a whole fleet of new electric buses to Busworld in Brussels, which runs from 7 to 12 October. The highlights include a new B12 model with a Blade battery within the chassis and a BYD-UNVI DD13 double-decker bus.

Chinese manufacturer BYD is not only present in the European car market, with models like the Seal, the Dolphin, Atto3, and other bigger ones like Han and Tang, but also in the bus market. Back in 2020, the conglomerate received a large order for e-buses in the Netherlands. Now, it presents a whole suite of new e-bus models at Busworld in Brussels.

Blade battery

The most interesting model is perhaps the new 12-meter eBus B12, which features the same ultra-safe Blade battery as BYD’s electric passenger cars. The Blade battery is built directly into the chassis, offering a more efficient use of space and more energy efficiency. The eBus B12 offers up to 500 kWh of battery capacity and a range of 600 km on one charge.

Another European premiere is the BYD-UNVI DD13, an electric double-decker bus in collaboration with Spanish expert UNVI / BYD

Double-decker e-bus

BYD also offers electric buses in other shapes and sizes. The new BYD-UNVI DD13 is a double-decker electric bus designed in collaboration with Spanish manufacturer UNVI, which was responsible for the body design.

The BYD stand at Busworld is completed by the eBus B15 and B19, which feature a length of 15 and 18,75 meters, respectively. These models are already on the market in Europe.
