Electra to open first of 20 fast-charging stations at Burger King

Over the coming two years, Electra, a European expert in fast-charging stations, plans to open and operate at least 20 fast-charging stations at existing and future branches of the fast-food chain Burge King. The collaboration starts today with the opening of the first fast-charging station at Burger King in Zandhoven.

During the first phase, existing restaurants will be equipped with charging stations up to 400 kW. Over the next two years, at least 20 fast-charging stations will open at different Burger King locations.

‘Perfect stopover’

Each station will contain a minimum of four and an average of six charging points. The first one in Zandhoven, in the province of Antwerp – at the exit of the E313 – has six charging points.

Louis-Charles Mosseray, General Manager at Electra BeNeLux, is happy about the collaboration. “While customers enjoy their meal at Burger King, they can charge their car from 20 to 80% in just twenty minutes.

It’s the perfect stopover for both the driver and the vehicle. This collaboration fits in seamlessly with our ambition to have a charging station available everywhere in Belgium within a ten-minute drive. It is not without reason that our philosophy is: Electra, already near you, or just about to be.”

‘Speed, service, and satisfaction’

“For us, everything revolves around speed, service, and customer satisfaction,” emphasizes Kevin Derycke, CEO of Burger Brands Belgium. “The ability to charge your car almost completely while enjoying a tasty burger at Burger King fits in perfectly with our approach and makes it even easier and more attractive for our customers.”

Electra’s fast charging stations will be installed at strategic locations at restaurants and retail points and available 24/7. In addition to Burger King customers, other drivers, such as city dwellers without their own charging stations, will also be able to use them.

Electra earlier announced a collaboration with supermarket chain Delhaize and restaurant group Colmar. Today, the company exploits 63 fast charging stations in Belgium. The goal is to operate 250 by 2025 and a network of 15,000 by 2030 in Europe.
