Flixbus launches bus line between Brussels and Kyiv

The German Flixbus launches a direct bus connection between Brussels (Belgium) and Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. The first trip from Kyiv to Brussels is planned for Wednesday. There will be two rides per week.

The bus leaves Kyiv on Wednesday and Friday mornings. In the opposite direction, the departure from Brussels North is scheduled for Monday and Saturday mornings. The outward journey costs just under 100 euros and takes about 40 hours.

The bus has several stops, including Liège, Cologne Airport, Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Lviv. FlixBus already offers 28 direct bus connections to Ukraine from 8 EU countries.

Symbolic bus connection

This is the first line of FlixBus that connects Ukraine with Brussels, the heart of Europe,” the transport company said in a press release. “For FlixBus and Ukraine, this bus line is a symbol and confirmation that Ukrainians are getting closer to their ambition to become a full member of the European Union.”

After Russia invaded Ukraine at the end of February 2022, the company suspended some of its lines, notably Warsaw-Kyiv and Prague-Kyiv, before gradually resuming service about two months later.
