DEME wins €300 million contract for Taiwan offshore wind farm substation

Belgian dredging company DEME has won a contract to transport and install foundations and an offshore substation for a wind farm in Taiwan. The contract is worth between 150 and 300 million euros. The works are scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

DEME’s Taiwanese joint venture CDWE will transport and install 33 jacket foundations, the pin piles anchoring them to the seabed, and the offshore substation. For the Fengmiao 1 project, CDWE will deploy its offshore installation vessel, Green Jade.

Fengmiao 1

This will be CDWE and Green Jade’s third foundation installation project, following the successful completion of the 300 MW Zhong Neng and the excellent progress on the 1 GW Hai Long 2 offshore wind farms.

The Fengmiao 1 wind farm, developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, will be located 35 kilometers off the coast of Taichung and have a capacity of 500 MW. It will supply renewable energy to Taiwanese companies.
