Stijn Blanckaert is new MD at Renta

Stijn Blanckaert (50) is the new Managing Director of the Belgian Federation of Vehicle Rental Companies, Renta. Its predecessor, Frank Van Gool, recently announced that he would be the new CEO of Febiac, so his place was vacant at Renta.

Renta President Johan Portier hasn’t waited too long to assign its successor: “We are very happy that Stijn Blanckaert will be the leading advocate for the operational leasing companies and the short-time rental firms. He has the right experience and knowledge, is well known in the sector, and is highly appreciated.”

Increasingly important sector

Stijn Blanckaert: I’m really looking forward to committing myself fully to defending this rental sector. The leasing and rental sector is still expanding. The B2B segment and the services involved will become increasingly important in the coming years.”

Until now, Stijn Blanckaert has been active as a car journalist and automotive trainer. He has worked for leasing companies and car importers. He will start working at Renta in July when Frank Van Gool moves to Febiac.

Both organizations are members of the Mobia umbrella organization, which regroups Febiac, Traxio, and Renta. As the Belgian Federation of Vehicle Rental Companies, Renta has 50 members and represents some 550,000 vehicles on the road. The federation represents some 40% of the new cars registered in Belgium.
