Porsche launches two new Macan EV variants with up to 641 km range

After initially launching the new electric Macan as the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, Porsche doubled its options by introducing the Macan and Macan 4S to the range. The former only has rear-wheel drive, making it the most efficient and cheapest.

Whereas before only the 408 hp Macan 4 and 612 hp Macan Turbo were available, customers interested in Porsche’s first electric SUV now have two new options: the single-motor Macan without a suffix and the Macan 4S, which slots in between the 4 and Turbo models.

The rear-wheel drive Macan is the cheapest and most efficient.

The base model Porsche Macan features a single motor on the rear axle, which delivers up to 265 kW (360 hp) in overboost mode. This allows for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 220 km/h, making it barely any slower than the Macan 4. Thanks to its 110 kg lower weight while retaining the same 100 kWh battery (95 kWh net capacity), the Macan reaches a WLTP range of 641 km.

The rear-wheel drive Porsche Macan is the most efficient, with a WLTP range of up to 641 km / Porsche.

Macan 4S: over 500 hp and more than 600 km of range

The Macan 4S, on the other hand, turns up the wick on the Macan 4 with two more powerful electric motors (one on each axle), delivering a combined system power of up to 380 kW (516 hp) in overboost. 0-100 km/h is over in just 4.1 seconds, while the top speed is raised to 240 km/h. Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and rear-wheel steering are available to increase the dynamics further. The range is still quite decent, at 606 km WLTP.

Both new Macan models feature the same 800 V battery architecture, which allows for 270 kW fast charging at a compatible charger. Charging from 10 to 80 percent SoC takes just 21 minutes.

Off-road design package

Additionally, Porsche has added even more options to its already lengthy configurator for the Macan. A new color has been added, Slate Grey Neo, while an off-road design pack is available, which raises the ride height by 10 mm and also adds specific bumpers, side skirts, rear diffusor panels, wheels, and roof rails to give the Macan some more off-roading prowess.

Priced from €84,500

The new Porsche Macan is available in Belgium from € 84,500, while the Macan 4S starts at €95,300 (including VAT). Deliveries of these variants begin in the second half of 2024. For the sake of totality, the previously launched Macan 4 costs €88,100, while the Macan Turbo demands at least €120,700 without options.
