MobilityPlus, a Ghent-based Belgian company that specializes in intelligent, integrated charging stations for businesses and fleets, has raised an additional 40 million euros in capital.
The new investors include Suma Capital, while Concentra, the holding company of the Limburg Baert family that also controls one-third of Mediahuis, is strengthening its stake. The freshly raised money will allow Mobility Plus to accelerate e-mobility in Belgium and France.
Smart energy management
MobilityPlus provides charging solutions for EVs and helps companies and property managers with intelligent energy management and their transition to e-mobility.
The topic is currently resonating well with investors. The company has convinced Suma Capital to invest 40 million euros in its plans through its Climate Impact Fund III, a fund focused on investing in energy transition in Europe. Existing investor Concentra also supports the company.
“This capital injection is essential to expand our technological lead further and improve our smart charging solutions,” says Jean-Francois Cheyns, founder and co-CEO of Mobility Plus.”
“We continue to focus on improving the user experience by developing innovative technologies and advanced energy management systems. This allows companies to reduce their charging costs while complying with increasingly stringent regulations, strengthening our position in the B2B market and increasing our impact on sustainable mobility.”
More than 15,000 charging stations
MobilityPlus, founded in 2016, currently has more than 15,000 charging stations in Belgium and France and, via roaming, access to another 550,000 charging stations across Europe.
Notable is its Charging-as-a-Service model, which involves taking over investments in charging infrastructures at no upfront cost to customers and companies.
