Brussels and Vilvoorde reconnected by Waterbus

The Waterbus, which connects Brussels and Vilvoorde, will resume its service on the canal from 1 May. This has been announced by Brussels by Water. The liner will commute every weekday until October and at weekends during the summer holidays. The Waterbus sails between the Stone Quay in Vilvoorde and the Barges Quay in Brussels, ten km away, near Thurn & Taxis.

Public transport on the canal between Brussels and Vilvoorde can be used for different types of travel, from private and touristic to excursions. The various stops are connected to conventional public transport and are located near car parks, parks, shopping centers, recreational areas, and residential and office areas.

This year, the Waterbus sails on weekdays from Monday to Friday from 1/05 to 30/06, from 15/08 to 31/10, and seven days a week during the summer period from 1/07 to 14/08. A ticket costs 3.5 euros. The trip between Brussels city center and Vilvoorde takes plus-minus one hour. The Waterbus was launched in 2013 and carried 45,535 passengers in 2022.
