Czech Škoda Auto, Volkswagen’s daughter and one of the first to follow the group’s advanced EV strategy is introducing the new Enyaq family, what it calls “one of Europe’s most successful
all-electric model series.”
Both the Škoda Enyaq and the Škoda Enyaq Coupé now feature the brand’s new Modern Solid design language and offer enhanced digital capabilities and more advanced assistance systems on top of an extended range of up to 590 km. The base price will be around €44,000.
250,000 sold since 2020
Launched in 2020, the Enyaq was Škoda’s first model based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB). Meanwhile, some 250,000 of them are sold, with over 75,000
sold globally in 2024.
The new one gets a facelift with the glossy black Tech-Deck Face, concealing sensors such as the radar system and the front camera. There is a new with fine, vertical ‘eyelashes’ illuminated
by LEDs and a new Škoda bonnet lettering in ‘Unique Dark Chrome’
Improved range
One of the ways to improve the range of the new models is the body that features excellent aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of 0.245 for the new Enyaq and 0.225 for the new Enyaq Coupé. That one is the most aerodynamic model in Škoda’s current portfolio.
The Enyaq 85 rear-wheel-drive model has a 210 kW (281 hp) motor and a larger lithium-ion battery consisting of twelve modules, with a gross capacity of 82 kWh, and promises a range of 596 km (WLTP). The AWD version Enyaq 85x also has a larger battery but includes a second asynchronous electric motor on the front axle for an equal output of 210 kW.
The base variant has a 63 kWh battery combined with a 150 kW synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets on the rear axle, offering a range of 446 km. It accelerates in 8.1 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 160 km/h, compared to 6.7 seconds and 180 km/h for both other versions.
All variants of the new Škoda Enyaq support high charging rates: up to 165 kW for the Enyaq 60 and a maximum of 175 kW for the Enyaq 85x. This means that the larger battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes at DC fast-charging stations.
More standard equipment
The interior is marked by a 5-inch ‘Digital Cockpit’ instrument cluster behind the wheel and a central 13-inch infotainment display. A head-up display with augmented reality is optionally available as part of the Advanced package. The shivery type of driver will appreciate that the redesigned steering wheel is now heated as standard in these cold days.
Standard equipment also includes automatic ‘Opening-On-Approach’ and locking, heated front seats, 3-zone Climatronic, and tow bar preparation for all models. If that’s not enough, there are four option packages to choose from: Clever, Plus, Advanced, and Maxx.
According to Skoda, several standalone options are available, such as the panoramic sunroof, a tow bar, a heat pump, and the Winter package with a heated windscreen and a heating function for the two outer rear seats.
Generous space offered
The Enyaq offers ample space with the exact same measurements as the regular and Coupé versions: 4,658 mm in length (9 mm longer than the previous one), 1,879 mm in width, and 1,622 mm in height.
The 2,766 mm wheelbase assures enough legroom for the rear passengers and allows for ‘generous luggage capacity’, 585 to 1,710 liters in the Enyaq and 570 to 1,610 liters in the Enyaq Coupé.
New automated parking features
A series of new digital features, including fully automated parking, are available as options. Intelligent Park Assist introduces two new functions: Remote Park Assist and Trained Parking.
The first allows the Enyaq to automatically enter parallel and perpendicular parking spaces while the owner controls it via the MyŠkoda app on their smartphone. Using Bluetooth, the system works with the owner standing near the vehicle while holding the key. After selecting the maneuver type, the Enyaq autonomously handles steering, braking, and movement.
Trained Parking enables the car to ‘learn’ approaches of up to 50 meters to five specific parking locations. Once a saved space is recognized, the Enyaq can drive itself there automatically using the Remote Trained Parking. This is controlled via the MyŠkoda app.
